KDevelop Php Plugin Beta1

Today KDevelop Beta6 and Php Plugin Beta1 released.
I'm really excited about that as we have been working on it for quite some time now. Not that we are finished - it's just a first useable version. I'll try to do use it for php coding here at work.

  2. @Roman: ask opensuse people about that...

  3. @niko: you don't need to ask opensuse people. With opensusebuild you can create easy packages for several distributions

  4. Hey Niko!

First of all huge thanks for all your hard work for all of us.

Although I have one huge problem - I'm trying my best, but couldn't install those plugins.

I run cmake, make, make install, than kbuildsycoca4, but I got nothing related to PHP in Kdevelop.

Please, please post how to install those ones, as I'd really like to try it out.

P.S: I've tried also those instructions for building from SVN to beta1 version, but also no success...

    P.P.S: I'm running Gentoo if that's important.

  5. Activate all debug output using kdebugdialog and post that output somewhere. You can find us on irc #kdevelop or kdevelop-devel@kdevelop.org

I'm running gentoo too - so this can't be the problem :D

  6. Well I found help on IRC.

It was KDE-prefix for cmake that I left default.

So I'm going to try it out right now!

  7. I have tried it a bit. And one thing stops me from using it.

All this PHP plugin - really great great work, makes developing much faster and clearer.

But I miss very very much the "upload project" option or at least FTP/SFTP/etc. remote view to access files remotely. Of course, this is KDevelop, where most people will not need it for desktop programming, so it's not a must be. But for me I waste more time to manage uploading files than I get from using KDevelop over Quanta 3.5.

As I don't know where else to give that kind of feedback, I just decided to let you know how I feel about it as a very long term Quanta user.

  8. @Jakub:
Quanta4 already has an upload plugin, I don't know if it still works. I think you could even use it inside KDevelop4.

But you also have another option - We use SVN for our web development and simply checkout on the production server. This has so many advantages - I would never go back to manual uploading. Of course it is not possible with every server.

You can contact us on the quanta users list quanta@kde.org or the devel list quanta-devel@kde.org. KDevelop has it's own lists...
